Katarina Bishop has worn a lot of labels in her short life life. Friend. Niece. Daughter. Thief. But for the last two months she’s simply been known as the girl who ran the crew that robbed the greatest museum in the world. That’s why Kat isn’t surprised when she’s asked to steal the infamous Cleopatra Emerald so it can be returned to its rightful owners.

There are only three problems. First, the gem hasn’t been seen in public in thirty years. Second, since the fall of the Egyptian empire and the suicide of Cleopatra, no one who holds the emerald keeps it for long, and in Kat’s world, history almost always repeats itself. But it’s the third problem that makes Kat’s crew the most nervous and that is simply… the emerald is cursed.

Kat might be in way over her head, but she’s not going down without a fight. After all she has her best friend—the gorgeous Hale—and the rest of her crew with her as they chase the Cleopatra around the globe, dodging curses, realizing that the same tricks and cons her family has used for centuries are useless this time.

Which means, this time, Katarina Bishop is making up her own rules.-- Goodreads

After reading Heist Society earlier this year, I was really excited to get my hands on the second book. It didn't disappoint!

I love the premise that this book is based on. Girl raised in a family of thiefs, falls in love with a colleague, yadda yadda....Basically, Carter took on a subject that is pretty much taboo...no one talks about stealing things in real life, but the way she writes about it makes the subject light and laughable. Was the writing perfect? No, but it was enjoyable.

The book was fast paced and romantic in all of the right places. I loved the chemistry between Kat and Hale. Once again, you are left wanting more to happen between the two. The book took many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The ending left me floored. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK! Don't you hate when a book leaves off on the most fantastic yet horrible cliffhanger? Yep, that is exactly what happened.

I found many of the characters to be extremely likable. I love Gabrielle's facade of ditziness, and Hales loveablilty. I mean, how could you not fall in love with Hale?! I love Kat and her stubborn and independent qualities. She reminds me a lot of me.

Overall I found this book to be a cute, quick read. I look forward to the next book in this series! If you haven't yet read the Heist series, you are missing out.

I will be giving this book four stars!
