Recommend A... (2)

Hey guys! Welcome to my second Recommend A..which is a meme hosted by Chick Loves Lit. This weeks topic is a book that made you emotional. Now I'm sure that if I had read The Fault in Our Stars that would have been my pick, but alas, it sits unread on my shelf. I will get to it one day!

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Instead I chose Mockingjay. I rarely get emotional about a character, but for some reason I was so invested in the relationship between Katniss and Prim that when she was killed, I bawled. I was heartbroken that such a wonderful person could be killed so harshly.

I know everyone who is invested in the book world has probably heard this spiel before, but if you have yet to read these books you are missing out! I have never loved a book series so much in my life, nor have a cried at the ending of the series. If that's not an indicator I don't know what is!

YES to this. This book was my favorite in the series. "Real or not real?" I DIED A LITTLE!!! Great choice.

Oh such a great choice! I was so mad at Suzanne Collins because not only is this whole book intense, the ending is heartbreaking. Argh, all the feelings!!!

Oooh this is a great pick! I think it's one most people wouldn't normally think of. I agree, my emotions while reading this one were much more raw than either of the other two.

Thanks for participating this week!

This one was great, it didn't come to my mind when I was thinking of emotional books but it does fit.
I thought about doing this one for "emotional" also! I was more broken up over the death in the middle-end (something to do with a lizard, I think?) than the "big" one toward the end. Sorry, don't want to give away anything for those who haven't read it.

This was a roller coaster of emotions for sure! My son and I argued about the ending for hours. I loved this series.

I haven't made it through this whole book yet...for some reason I just couldn't get into it. I cared deeply during Catching Fire so maybe it'll just take a bit to get through this one. I'll have to try again!
